A southern point of the cliffs is called "Hags Heads"because the rock looked a
lot like woman's head looking out to sea. An Irish legend speaks about an old
witch("Cailleach"). She had meny names . She' was associated to the golden
fire goddess Brigit. Cailleach was her darker half. Mal is a name that was given to
"Hags Head". She's madly in love with Irish hero Cù Chulainn but
he does not love her. He thinks it is so unpleasant that she loves him,
that he ran to the over of Irland to get away from Mal. Eventually
ending up at Loop's Head in south of country Clare. Mal found him and Cù Chulainn
escaped by jumping back from the Cliffs of Moher to the sea. Mal fallowed him and
she jumped from the cliff and she died. The sea was colored with her blood.
Sometimes, we can hear her screams of death and sorrow.
Le point du sud de la falaise est appelée "Tête de sorcières"(hags head)
car il ressemblait beaucoup à la tête d'une femme regardent la mer. Une
légende Irlandaise parle d'une vielle sorcière ("Cailleach") . Elle avait
beaucoup de noms et elle fut associée à la déesse Brigt. Cailleach étais
sa moitié la plus sombre. Mal est le nom donné à la Sorcière. Qui a étais
follement amoureuse de Cù Chulainn un héros Irlandais. Mais lui ne
l'aimais pas. Au point de trouvais cela désagréable. Il courut au bout de
l'Irland pour s'enfuir de Mal. Finalement se retrouvent à courir en boucle.
Mal le rattrapa donc pour s'échapper d'elle il sauta des falaise de Moher
dans la mer. Mal voulant le suivre sauta a son tour mais elle loupa son saut
et se noya dans la mer qui et coloré par son sang. Parfois on entend ses cris
de mort et de chagrin.
